fortress

this was how i spent my time at fortress mountain. the work was relaxed and i spent most of my days lost in the wilderness taking in the scenery and the fresh mountain air. craig, mike and i would all partake in wondrous hikes for hours on end.
in actuality this was the only time the three of us got enough time off to climb the mountains surrounding the ski hill, i don't even think crage or mike had gotten the entire day off. we did spend most of this particular day hiking and trying to fish.
on other days off the three of us would often go into canmore to go skateboarding at the local skatepark.
Craig and mike worked in the kitchen and ended up being my roommates. joe the head of the kitchen staff (cook anyway, there wasn't really much to the kitchen in the summer) was also lumped in with us. joe never cleaned, which was rather frustrating due to the fact this forced both mike and i (on more than one occasion) to thouroughly clean up our entire accommodation.
i, unlike Craig and mike, worked for dave. dave was an ex-army drill sergeant and spent most of his time thinking about the most entertaining way to kill you. i know this because i spent an entire coffee break one day listening to dave's description of how he would have slowly, and painfully killed this young couple. The couple who had just pulled up to enjoy a calm summers day out in the warmth of nature. dave also forced me to drink coffee, and continually tried to get me to talk. fortunately i worked rather hard while i was working for dave, because of this he never really got mad at me or on my case about anything.
if you are ever looking for an entertaining job, somewhat distanced from reality, i suggest working a an out of the way ski resort.
